As an extension of our Neurological Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the Neurocritical Care Unit at Methodist University Hospital allows patients the convenience of recovering in a specialized unit devoted to their unique care needs. Neurocritical care provides treatment to patients with severe neurological disorders conditions.
Our team of expert physicians are fellowship-trained and board-certified in neurocritical care and provide comprehensive care for conditions such as:
- Aneurysm: A weakened area of a blood vessel in the brain that bulges and fills with blood
- Brain hemorrhage: Bleeding in the brain caused by an artery bursting and bleeding into the surrounding tissues
- Intracranial Stenosis: A narrowing of an artery in the brain
- Neurological spinal injuries: Damage to any part of the spinal cord or nerves at the end of the spinal cord
- Stroke: A sudden interruption in blood supply to the brain
