Methodist Fayette Hospital Earns Top National Honor in Pneumonia Care
Methodist Fayette Hospital was recently named one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures in pneumonia by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditation body of health care organizations in America. Methodist Fayette Hospital was recognized based on data reported about evidence-based clinical processes that are shown to improve care for certain conditions.
“This recognition demonstrates our commitment to quality care for our patients and dedication by our team of physicians and Associates,” stated David Crislip, Methodist Fayette Hospital administrator. “It is an honor to be recognized by The Joint Commission which demonstrates our ability to provide top care.”
Methodist Fayette Hospital is one of only 405 U. S. hospitals and one of 20 Tennessee hospitals earning the distinction of top performer on key quality measures for pneumonia care. Inclusion on the list is based on 2010 data.
“Today, the public expects transparency in the reporting of performance at the hospitals where they receive care, and The Joint Commission is shining a light on the top performing hospitals such as Methodist Fayette Hospital that have achieved excellence on a number of vital measures of quality care,” says Mark R. Chassin, M.D., FACP, M.P.P., M. P. H., president, The Joint Commission.
In addition to being included in The Joint Commission’s “Improving America’s Hospitals” annual report (www.jointcommission.org), Methodist Fayette Hospital will be recognized on The Joint Commission’s Quality Check website (www.qualitycheck.org).
This marks the second recognition of quality care in pneumonia for Methodist Fayette. The hospital also recently received the “Leapfrog Leadership in Pneumonia Care Quality and Cost” award from the Memphis Business Group on Health (MBGH).
