Grand Opening Celebration for Methodist Hospice Residence
Today, Wednesday, June 29, Methodist Hospice held its grand opening for its new Hospice Residence located at 6416 Quince Road in Memphis.
“While we may not be able to predict the number of days a patient may have,” explains Clay Jackson, M.D., medical director, Methodist Hospice. “We can add to the quality of life.”
The Methodist Hospice Residence will help fill a great need in our community. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to treat complex medical issues and is dedicated to the physical and spiritual well-being of those who are terminally ill and their families.
“The residence will allow us to continue providing patient- and family-centered care in a loving, supportive, and home-like environment,” said Mitch Graves, president and CEO, Methodist Healthcare Affiliated Services Division. “The residence will offer patients and their families the very best of faith, health, and compassion during a very special time in their lives.”
Built in a park-like setting, the residence features 30 beds equipped to meet the needs of both adults and children. Fresh air and sunshine and a beautiful garden are just a few feet away for patients and their families to enjoy. Patients may bring personal items from home including bedding, photos, and music. Beloved pets can even come for a visit.
The residence expects to be ready for its first patients by the end of July.
