Focused on Knee and Hip Replacements

Methodist North’s Center for Total Joint Surgery offers the latest care and treatment for orthopaedic patients in order to resolve your pain and get you back to doing the things you love. Opened in August 2005, the Center for Total Joint Surgery is a dedicated orthopaedic unit focused on delivering superior, individualized care to patients undergoing total knee or hip replacements. Our specialized facility and our multi-disciplinary team of caregivers help us provide the highest quality orthopaedic care while keeping your comfort and recovery in mind.

A First-Rate Facility

Our specialized joint replacement center provides a healing and comfortable environment for patients and their families. The center includes:

  • 11 spacious inpatient rooms specifically designed to provide convenience and comfort to orthopaedic patients. In addition to new televisions and other amenities, each room features beds specifically designed for orthopaedic patients. These specialized beds lower all the way to the ground, allowing the patient to exit with ease.
  • Sleeper sofas in every room for the comfort of visiting family members
  • A gathering room for families featuring a television
  • On-site diagnostic facilities which offers easy access for our patients
  • Dedicated entrance with ample, safeguarded parking

A Caring and Specialized Team

A multi-disciplinary team including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists,
and anesthesiologists is dedicated to providing the very best care to our patients. The nursing staff are licensed RNs, and many have advanced training in orthopaedics. Anesthesiologists visit post-operative patients to assist with pain management and administer specific medications that target the unique needs of orthopaedic patients. In addition, all rehabilitation is completed in-house, with the physical and occupational therapists coming directly to patient rooms for added convenience and quicker recovery. In fact, most patients are well enough to go home after 3-5 days.

Strong Partnerships Provide Orthopedic Excellence

Methodist North’s Center for Total Joint Surgery offers some of the best care in the region. Affiliated orthopaedic physicians and groups that help make this possible include:

  • Memphis Orthopaedic Group
  • OrthoMemphis
  • Tabor Orthopaedic Group

Our strong partnership with these groups and their physicians enables us to provide the highest quality care to our orthopaedic patients.

Free Hip & Knee Classes

Because informed patients typically recover more quickly and have a better overall experience, the
center offers pre-operative classes for all patients as well as anyone who is considering joint replacement surgery. These classes provide information on what to expect during and after a total joint replacement operation, how to prepare yourself to ease recovery, rehabilitation options after your surgery and staff introductions from the people who will work with you each day. To register for a class, simply call us at (901) 516-5639.
