Summer Nurse Internship Program
Refine your skills in evidence-based care, nursing leadership and decision-making while working with a full-time, seasoned RN. This paid program gives students the opportunity to work in a healthcare setting under the guidance of one of our RNs. You will be immersed in the “real-life” role of the RN, work full-time (primarily night and weekend shifts) and be eligible to transition to the Student Nurse Extern program.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing in good standing
- Completion of two semesters of clinical work
- Be within one year of graduation with minimum overall GPA of 3.0
Student Nurse Extern Program
This paid program is designed for nursing students. Participants are given the opportunity to improve communication and collaboration skills while working with an interdisciplinary team. We provide our externs with flexible PRN schedules. Externs may be eligible to transition directly to RN Cat 3 Residents on their current unit.
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a ADN or BSN program
- Completion of nursing foundations/fundamentals or equivalent
Nurse Residency Program
Designed for recent graduates, The Nurse Residency Program prepares you to be successful as a full partner on a health care team. This paid, year-long program will also empower you to function autonomously within your nursing specialty, heighten your visibility within our system and give you a safe environment to share and receive feedback with your clinical cohort.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an accredited ADN or BSN degree in nursing
- Less than one year of acute care nursing experience
- Licensed in TN or MS as an RN (or other Compact State per TN Board of Nursing guidelines)
Healthcare Assistant Student Program
Designed as an introduction to our Nursing and Allied Health pathways, this paid summer program is a great opportunity for students wanting to become an RN or allied health professional. In this program, you will work in our hospital with patients and families, gain hands-on experience under the direction of an RN or Allied Health Partner, be exposed to different units and departments and contribute to our success by providing indirect patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of first-year university or college courses
- Enrolled and in good standing in school
- Intent to enroll or be currently accepted in an accredited College of Nursing or Allied Health program
