Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer

Tina Haskins Smith is senior vice president and chief information officer for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. Haskins Smith is responsible for leading and executing information technology functions across the Memphis-based healthcare system, as well as patient and employee-facing digital transformation initiatives, including the implementation of a new medical health record system and a human capital management system.

With her extensive experience in IT, including 20 years in healthcare, starting at Parkland Health in Dallas, Texas, Haskins Smith brings wide-ranging and valuable insight to the systems, strategies, processes, and data necessary to maintain Methodist Le Bonheur’s position as a leader in healthcare. She led successful electronic health record implementations at several healthcare organizations, most recently during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the organization’s achievement of HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM) Level 7. 

Before joining Methodist Le Bonheur, Haskins Smith served as Seattle Children’s Hospital’s associate vice president and chief applications officer. Prior to Seattle Children’s Hospital, she served as assistant vice president of Epic enterprise applications and Epic project director for Cook Children’s Healthcare System in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Haskins Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Amberton University. She completed CIO training at the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care from the Harvard School of Public Health. Haskins Smith is a first cohort member of Health Information and Management Systems Society’s CIO Connect Program.

In addition to Haskins Smith’s career and education accomplishments, she is committed to helping others through organizations such as IGNITE (Inspiring Girls Now in Technology Evolution) Worldwide, Washington State Opportunity Scholarship, Student Opportunity Center and several non-profit charities.
