Spiritual Care and Ethics
At Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, we embrace the spiritual dimension of life and are committed to providing Spiritual Care services to patients, family members and Associates. We guide, promote and advance a shared common understanding of the meaning and application of MLH's mission and vision and we promote ethical integrity in the organization, our business practices, and in patient care.
Chaplaincy
Chaplains are spiritual care providers who support and counsel patients, family members, Associates and guests of Methodist patients. Our chaplains meet people where they are spiritually, assuring each person – no matter their faith – that they are valued, respected and loved by God.
Clinical Pastoral Education
The Clinical Pastoral Education program is a post-seminary program focused on educational, theological and personal reflection and growth. Many of the program’s participants are seeking to work as chaplains in hospitals and other organizations.
Ethics
Methodist promotes ethical integrity in its organization, business practices and in-patient care, including a deep respect for the rights of each person to participate in healthcare decisions. In addition to corporate advocacy and leadership, Mission Integration oversees ethics consultations and advanced care planning. Consultations may be requested through oneChart or by calling the chaplain at your hospital.
