Living the Mission
What does it mean to say that we are Living the Mission at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare? It means we are committed to our mission of enhancing your health and well-being through high-quality, innovative and compassionate care. This mission is rooted in our faith and supported by our deep commitment and a sense of purpose. The Mission Integration Division offers guidance and direction for the integration of MLH's mission, vision, and values - especially from the perspective of the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church.
System Ethics
Methodist promotes ethical integrity in its organization, business practices and in-patient care, including a deep respect for the rights of each person to participate in healthcare decisions. In addition to advocacy and leadership, Living the Mission oversees ethics consultations and advanced care planning. Consultations may be requested through oneChart or by calling the chaplain at your hospital. Once the consult is received, the chaplain’s office will proceed from there.
Center of Excellence in Faith and Health Equity
The Center of Excellence in Faith and Health Equity (COE) is the innovation and education space within the Mission Integration Division, and serves as the engine for education, research, and collaboration.
Congregational Health Network
The Congregational Health Network (CHN) is a collaborative partnership between Methodist Healthcare and Mid-South congregations. Educators conduct health needs assessments and provide evidence-based chronic disease self-management education and connection other sources for health education.
The Social Principles of the United Methodist Church
The Mission Integration Division (MID) leads MLH in living out the Church’s teaching that “all persons should have equal access to clean water, food, housing, education, medical care, employment, and there should be a commitment to increasing the social capital of those who are most vulnerable in society. For more information about the Social Principles, visit the United Methodist Church website.
Faith Community Relations
In addition to our close relationship and connection with the United Methodist Church (UMC), Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has a rich history of building partnerships with faith-based organizations throughout the region.
