Every Second Counts
There are two windows of opportunity to treat ischemic stroke — clot busting drugs called Alteplase and a mechanical thrombectomy with a stent retriever.
The benefits of Alteplase in patients with acute ischemic stroke are time dependent and every second counts. Shorter door-to-needle times mean better long-term outcomes, lower all-cause mortality and all cause readmission at one year.
