Leadership, Quality Outcomes, and Professional Role Development and Scholarship for Nursing Practice are the key focus areas for the Vizient/American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Nurse Residency Program™. The evidence-based Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ (NRP) celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022. The Program helps NLRNs develop better, more effective, decision-making skills, and enhance their clinical nurse leadership. The Vizient/AACN NRP™ helps NLRNs improve the incorporation of research-based evidence into practice and reduces newly licensed registered nurses’ first year turnover. NLRN Residents will have opportunities to network across the organization and within specialty areas and facilities. The Vizient/AACN NRP™ provides the foundation for the MLH program.
The MLH Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ includes on boarding, orientation with preceptor, a mentor, networking opportunities, 12 seminars, scheduled small group time with a nurse facilitator, guided professional reflection, simulation, and a professional enrichment experience. Seminars include scheduled time to complete an evidence–based residency project along with the completion of a professional portfolio and graduation celebration.
