Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Names Woodard Chief Digital Officer

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has named Patrick A. Woodard, MHA, MD, vice president and chief digital officer.

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has named Patrick A. Woodard, MHA, MD, vice president and chief digital officer. Woodard joins the healthcare system from Reno, Nev., where he served as vice president and chief medical information officer for Renown Health.

“Dr. Woodard will help transform our digital health technologies so we can integrate user-friendly and interactive platforms to expand patient engagement,” said Ron Fuschillo, senior vice president and chief information officer. “As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Woodard brings incredible perspective through his combined skills as a physician and his knowledge of integrated digital networks. Through thoughtful technology solutions, we can nurture the human side of healthcare, even when working with machines.”

Woodard will develop and implement digital health strategies that unite industry best practices with real-time evidence-based care. He will align online, mobile and other digital platforms to provide comprehensive, innovative and holistic resources that enhance patients’ ability to engage with their care teams.

“As healthcare technologies continue to evolve, it’s even more important that we streamline a patient’s ability to interact with their care team,” said Monica Wharton, MLH executive vice president and chief administrative officer. “It’s crucial to give patients every resource possible to support positive health outcomes, and we look forward to Dr. Woodard’s innovative strategies to enhance patient experience.” 

While at Renown Health, Woodard led strategic clinical software improvements to spearhead engagement between clinical care teams while improving overall digital literacy. He also developed and standardized processes for comprehensive medical record documentation. Prior to Renown Health, he was the founder and chief medical and technology officer for DocDox, an innovative patient startup utilized in skilled nursing and long-term acute care facilities.

Woodard holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Georgetown University, and earned a medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from The George Washington University – Milken Institute School of Public Health.
