Accreditations and Awards

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s cardiovascular services combines compassionate care with the latest in leading-edge heart care technologies and treatment options. Our healthcare system has earned top accreditations from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the national leader in cardiovascular quality evaluations. These accreditations include cardiac electrophysiology, heart failure, chest pain center and their highest recognition as a HeartCARE Center, the only Memphis-area hospitals to do so.

Why Are Cardiovascular Accreditations Important?

Earning accreditations is one way we show our commitment to high-quality patient care and innovation. And when it comes to your heart, we know you expect the most advanced, highest quality care. Being accredited means we have gone through rigorous evaluations, employed best practices, and implemented other proven quality initiatives that lead to greater operational efficiency and a more consistent approach to treatment throughout the continuum of care. Accreditation demonstrates the level of care provided by our cardiovascular specialists and our commitment to our patients and community.

HeartCARE™ Center Accreditation

We are proud to be the only Memphis-area hospitals to earn the American College of Cardiology’s HeartCARE Center Accreditation, a National Distinction of Excellence program recognizing hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to a comprehensive, high-quality culture. The HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence is awarded to hospitals with a proven track record of comprehensive process improvement, achieving specific accreditations related to heart care, professional excellence and community engagement. To earn this accolade, our hospitals had to meet stringent criteria, which included achieving three accreditations from the ACC in specialty areas. This elite accreditation recognizes premium, consistently delivered comprehensive care for heart patients.

Locations:

Heart Failure Accreditation

Heart Failure Accreditation improves the clinical processes for the early assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for heart failure patients.  Being ACC Heart Failure accredited means we have attained proficiency in caring for heart failure patients and take a supportive and collaborative approach to heart failure patient care. We earned this accreditation based on rigorous on-site review of our staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with heart failure through pre-hospital care, early stabilization, acute care, transitional care, clinical quality measures and more.

Locations:

Electrophysiology Accreditation

Electrophysiology (EP) Accreditation is an operational model that merges the latest science and process improvement methodologies within the Electrophysiology lab. This Accreditation is the result of diligent work by leading electrophysiologists. It incorporates recent guidelines and expert consensus statements by recognized professional organizations regarding the care of electrophysiology patients.

Locations:

Chest Pain Center Accreditation

Hospitals that earn ACC Chest Pain Center have proven exceptional competency in treating patients with heart attack symptoms. As required to meet the criteria of the accreditation designation, we have streamlined our systems from admission and evaluation to diagnosis and treatment, through to appropriate post-discharge care, recommendations and assistance in patient lifestyle changes.

Locations:

Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI

This accreditation recognizes facilities that have demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients who come to a cardiac cath lab for care, including diagnostic catheterizations and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures. All five of our adult hospitals were awarded Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients. These hospitals have proven exceptional competency in treating patients who require cardiac catheterization and have standardized their assessment process for patients to ensure quality and patient safety.
