Methodist Women’s Auxiliary Spreads Holiday Cheer to Frontline Heroes
The Methodist Women’s Auxiliary prepared 650 Holiday goodie bags filled with treats and notes of encouragement for members of the Respiratory Therapy and Environmental Services departments at Methodist University Hospital.
While the Auxiliary members were unable to volunteer in the hospitals in 2021 due to visitor limitations, the volunteer group instead spent their time and treasure to create these bags as small tokens of appreciation for the critical work these departments continue to provide during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Auxiliary is so happy to assist however we can, and we want to make sure that all departments working to support the system during the pandemic feel recognized and appreciated,” shared Jane Crabtree, President of the Methodist Women’s Auxiliary.
“We were as happy to sponsor a room at the Methodist Hospice Residence as we are to provide crayons and books to patient care waiting rooms. This is a great responsibility that we take very seriously. We are honored to have been in existence for 87 years and hope to continue this service far into the future.”
Founded just 15 years after Methodist Healthcare, the Auxiliary provides financial and volunteer support to help meet the needs of patients, families, caregivers, and Physicians at Methodist’s Hospitals and care facilities. Since its founding in 1935, the organization has raised and donated well over $2 Million to support Methodist Healthcare.
