Giving Voice to Hope

Dennis H. Jones

The Living Well Network was founded on the shoulders of tragedy. Dennis H. Jones, a successful businessman, loving husband and father died by suicide in December 2009. He struggled with depression in silence. He did not share with his family, friends or his close faith community the depths of his depression. After his death, his wife, Debbie, and daughter, Cristin, made room in their grief to give voice to hope.

After much prayer and planning, and with a generous gift from Debbie Jones, the Dennis H. Jones Living Well Network was created at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.

“I wish I had known enough to be able to help Dennis. With this program, we can plug a hole where we didn’t even know there was one,” shares Debbie Jones. “Dennis was giving and caring. Now, he can continue to give and care through this work for years to come.”

Our Mission

Our mission is to give people the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest by connecting them to behavioral health care, advocating for mental health resources and creating a culture where mental health discussions are essential to our overall health.

Through connection, education and advocacy, the Living Well Network is helping the community to be more mindful of the ways that behavioral health impacts our lives. Oftentimes, people don’t know where to begin when they seek help for emotional health issues. Now, they can call the Living Well Network and talk to one of our counselors who will connect them to the appropriate resources in the community. With generous support from our community partners, this free service is offered to any adult in the Mid South and greater Memphis area.

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare understands that focusing on exceptional care for all areas of our health is important for lasting wellbeing. We know that people are at their best when they are encouraged to seek help for all of their concerns in a safe, accepting, and caring environment.

Mother Theresa said this:
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.”

Debbie Jones and her daughter cast a stone when they gave voice to hope in the midst of their grief. Their gift of the Living Well Network helps people every day to live a better life. There is hope. There is help.
