Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Welcomes New Breast Surgical Oncologist
Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare welcomes new breast surgical oncologist Ryland J. Gore, MD, MPH, FACS, to its Methodist Cancer Institute, located in the heart of the Memphis Medical District. Gore will also practice at the Methodist Comprehensive Breast Centers in midtown and Germantown, which offer patients a variety of breast health services including screening and diagnostic mammograms.
Gore is a board-certified physician specializing in breast surgery for oncology patients. She completed a fellowship in breast oncology from Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn and an integrated general surgery residency from Rush University Medical Center and John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. Gore earned a bachelor’s degree from Furman University, a master’s degree from The George Washington University and a doctorate from Morehouse School of Medicine.
Prior to joining the Memphis-based healthcare system, Gore was a breast surgical oncologist at Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Gore previously served as chairwoman for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer program Making Strides Against Breast Cancer for three years and holds memberships with the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncologists and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Her areas of expertise include addressing health disparities in surgical care and medicine, advocacy for breast cancer research and women’s health.
