Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare VP Earns State Recognition

Dorris Dotson-Suggs, Vice President of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, recently received the Patient Safety Leadership Award from Tennessee Hospital Association.

Dorris received her award during Tennessee Hospital Association’s annual meeting, held September 18-19 in Nashville.

“Dorris joins an elite class of honorees with this recognition, and we are excited to see her dedication to patient care and safety honored at the highest level in the state,” said Michael Ugwueke, President and CEO of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. “Dorris is instrumental in our efforts to support our patients and their loved ones by regularly assessing our system’s compliance and safety standards.”

Dorris joined Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in 2001 as a registered nurse at Methodist South Hospital. Since then, she has held various roles across the system, including clinical director, Director of Patient Safety and Regulatory Readiness and Senior Director of Nursing, Safety and Quality.

In her current role as Vice President of Quality and Clinical Effectiveness, Dorris champions data-informed decisions across the organization, creating strategies for increased effectiveness and patient safety initiatives based in quality metrics.
