Auxiliary Celebrates 85th Birthday

Methodist Hospital Auxiliary, a support organization comprised of women from Methodist churches throughout the Mid-South, celebrated its 85th anniversary at a special luncheon in May.

Founded 15 years after Methodist Healthcare, the Auxiliary provides financial and volunteer support to meet the needs of patients, families, physicians and caregivers at Methodist’s hospitals and care facilities.

Since 1935, the organization has raised and donated over $2 million.

Jane Crabtree, Auxiliary President, shared, “We were as happy to help sponsor a room at the Methodist Hospice Residence as we are to provide crayons and books to patient care waiting rooms. This is a great responsibility that we take very seriously. We are honored to have been in existence for 85 years and hope to continue far into the future.”
