The Humanitarian Fund Campaign

From the beginning, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare has been a place where people helped those who were experiencing a crisis. The first Methodist Hospital System administrator, Dr. Henry Hedden, knew that physical ills were often accompanied by financial burdens, so he established the Humanitarian Fund. Originally intended for needy patients as a project of the Methodist Healthcare Auxiliary, the fund was reorganized in 1976 to help Associates who were facing crisis situations and needed emergency financial help. Through the annual Humanitarian Fund Campaign, the Foundation has raised these crucial donations “For Associates, By Associates.”
