Neuroscience Institute
Many of the activities of the Methodist Healthcare Neuroscience Institute can be accomplished only with the generous support of our friends in the community. Support for the Neuroscience Institute will help assure that resources are available for patients coping with neurological conditions. Your support can also assist with groundbreaking research designed to discover new advances in clinical care. Click here to learn more about the Neuroscience Institute.
Faith & Health – Center of Excellence
Methodist Healthcare has been a healing presence in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee since 1918 and is one of the largest faith-based health systems in the world. It serves every kind of person to be found in the mid-South today: rich, poor, black, white, Asian and Hispanic. It is the largest provider of services to the poor in the State of Tennessee. Ever seeking to expand and improve its care, the health system is committed to a wide range of partnerships with congregations and networks of all faiths. We know this work must be not only merciful, but just; not only just, but excellent. In 2006 the Board of Directors of Methodist Healthcare created the Center for Excellence in Faith and Health to serve as an engine of research, reflection, innovation and training. Transplant Institute
Much of what we do at the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute can be enhanced by private support. The Transplant Institute provides many opportunities for individuals to make a meaningful gift to enhance the clinical care and the quality of life of transplant patients and families. Funding is also required to support clinical and basic science research.
Although the existing program has made major strides in advancing our research and supporting our patients, additional resources can provide assistance in the following areas to fulfill the vision for the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute:
-
Physicians and Staff
Contributions help recruit and bring outstanding physician and research talent to the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. -
Research
Unique and life-saving research initiatives are being conducted independently and in collaboration with other transplant centers in the United States and throughout the world. These activities include studies in the areas of transplant rejection, islet transplantation and pre-emptive transplantation, among others. Charitable contributions help fund the research staff and facilities and equipment costs of these activities. -
Patient Support Programs
Contributions to the Transplant Resource Center Patient Emergency Grant Program provide financial assistance to organ transplant recipients, organ donors and their families. Assistance is provided to cover expenses related to the following situations, including; medication co-payments, phone and utility bills, transportation expenses, and Nora's Home or hotel arrangements. -
Gifts
Gifts can be made in a variety of ways. Immediate outright gifts provide support for research, training and purchase of new equipment. Permanent gifts, or endowments, can be established to provide ongoing support for a particular area of the Institute. Gifts can be made in the form of cash or appreciated securities.
Nationally recognized for its success with kidney, liver, kidney-pancreas and pancreas transplants, Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute has been a leader in the field for more than 30 years. Click here to learn more about the Transplant Institute.
