Pancreas Transplant

Anna Beth Parker
"I would have gone anywhere to get the best care I possibly could. Honestly, I researched every option and the best was right here" - Anna Beth Parker

Pancreas and Simultaneous Kidney/Pancreas transplantation may be an option for individuals with Type 1 diabetes. Our goal is to ensure that transplantation is the appropriate treatment option and help you navigate through the journey with outstanding care both before and after transplantation.

Pancreas and Simultaneous Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation

Pancreas transplantation surgically replaces the diseased pancreas with a healthy pancreas. In some cases, simultaneous kidney/pancreas transplantation is necessary.  Benefits and risks associated with this surgical procedure will be discussed throughout our education and evaluation process. You will be provided with information needed to decide if pancreas or kidney/pancreas transplantation is the best treatment option for you.

Pancreas Transplant

To determine if you are a candidate for pancreas transplantation, you will need to meet with our transplant team to complete a thorough medical, social and financial evaluation. Once you have been referred to our program, our schedulers will make arrangements for you to come in for transplant education and to start the evaluation process.  Throughout the transplant evaluation process, you will  learn about transplantation and have the opportunity to ask questions.
