Our staff is highly qualified and specially trained in sleep disorders. In our state-of-the art facility, we provide diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for all age groups.
The Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), and our technologists are credentialed by either the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or the National Board of Respiratory Care. All are licensed to practice polysomnography in Tennessee.
Meet Our Physicians:
Robert Aguillard, M.D.
Dr. Aguillard has been the Sleep Center medical director for more than 20 years. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University, performed his internal medicine residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital and finished his fellowship in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Dr. Aguillard is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the founding member of the Memphis Mid-South Sleep Society. He has also been published in numerous clinical magazines, such as Sleep and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology.
Merrill Wise, M.D.
Dr. Wise is a neurologist specializing in pediatric and adult sleep medicine. After graduating from Rhodes College and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, he received post-graduate training at the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. He is board-certified in pediatrics, child neurology, neurophysiology and sleep medicine.
Dr. Wise is the current president of the American Sleep Medicine Foundation. His has published more than 80 articles, chapters, abstracts and presentations.
James Mc Kay Andrews, M.D.
Dr. Andrews is a board-certified sleep specialist. He completed his internship in internal medicine and his residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He also completed an anesthesiology residency at St. Louis University and then went on to complete fellowships in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.
Dr. Andrews is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians.
William Mariencheck, M.D.
Dr. Mariencheck is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine- Pulmonary Diseases, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He graduated from medical school and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine here in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Environmental Medicine at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Mariencheck is the Former Chief of Pulmonary Medicine Department at the University of Tennessee at Memphis and is currently a member of the Mid-South Pulmonary team.
Syed Junaid Ahmed Zaidi, M.D.
Dr. Zaidi is an Intensivist Physician and is board certified in board certified in internal, pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. He earned his MBBS from Baqai Medical College at the University of Karachi in Pakistan. Zaidi completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Tennessee
In addition to seeing patients in the Sleep Disorders Center, Dr. Zaidi continues seeing patients at both Methodist South Hospital and Methodist University Hospital as a member of the Mid-South Pulmonary team. Zaidi is also the medical director of the Intensive Care Unit at Methodist South Hospital.
Errol M. Hook, ACNP
Errol Hook is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and is ACLS, PALS, BLS and F.C.C.S certified. Mr. Hook earned his associate’s diploma from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, his BSN in Nursing from the University of Memphis, and his MSN in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to having a follow-up sleep patient clinic at the Sleep Disorders Center, Hook also conducts rounds at Methodist Germantown, North, South and University Hospitals as a member of the Mid-South Pulmonary team.
