We are committed to an equal partnership with our patients and their families to create a special care environment.
Patient- and family-centered care is built on:
- Dignity and respect for the family
- Complete and unbiased information-sharing in a useful, affirming manner
- Family participation in care planning and delivery
- Family collaboration with clinicians in policies, procedures and staff training
From the hospice residence to each Methodist hospital, Patient and Family Partners work together with hospital CEOs and senior leadership to help us better meet the needs of those we serve. The volunteer team of more than 150 former patients and caregivers helps us see the healthcare world through their eyes—in individual interviews, work groups for special projects, hospital steering committees, or Partner Council meetings.
