Brain and Spine Institute
"Brain tumor" - those words are scary to many patients throughout the Mid-South who are informed by their doctor that is indeed their diagnosis. Added to this initial shock can be a confusing journey through many different types of doctors and treatments as well as conflicting advice from well-meaning friends and relatives.
At the Brain and Spine Institute, we understand the impact that these diseases have on our patients' lives. This is what motivates us to work together as doctors representing many different fields of medicine - neurosurgery, neurology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, Gamma Knife, neuropathology and neuroradiology - yet all dedicated to the goal of a unified approach to providing state-of-the-art care for patients and their families. We truly believe that by working together we can offer more than what any of us could alone.
Yet our commitment is not just about giving state-of-the-art care. We are also committed to advancing our knowledge about brain tumors and their treatment in the hopes of improving what we can currently offer. We are continually reviewing our practice, with an eye towards staying on the cutting edge of the field. It is our mutual goal that we offer care for brain tumor patients here in the Mid-South that is equal to that they could receive in any of the finest neuro-oncology centers in the country.
Above all, we hope to impart to our patients and their families our concept of living with a brain tumor, rather than stopping life because of it. We have patients in our center who are playing professional football, going to college, raising a family at home, running their own business and more. Our major focus is maintaining quality of life in all that we do.
