More than 100 people joined Karen and Reggie Garner of Magnolia Homes to raise funds for a special bathtub for hospice patients. Karen’s mother was a patient at the Methodist Hospice Residence, and she wanted to do something to give back.
“There are so few luxuries for someone who is dying, but there is a special tub that allows patients to be completely submerged and enjoy a relaxing bath, retain their dignity and give peace of mind to their families. We wanted to help provide this,” said Karen.
The Residence offers care for patients at the end of life, so that they and their families can have peace at such a hard time. It functions as a hospital, with the look and feel of a home, to meet all of a patient’s needs when care in the home is no longer possible.
The party was a huge success and raised $22,240 - just shy of the $30,000 required to purchase and install the bathtub. If you would like to donate to help close the gap on the goal, please call or email Alex Roberts at email@example.com or 901-516-0836.
