Carol-Ross-SpangLast night, on the eve of the 107th International Women’s Day, Great Place to Work announced its inaugural Great Place to Work® For All Leadership Awards at a gala dinner at the Four Seasons San Francisco. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s Chief Human Resources Officer Carol Ross-Spang was one of the women leaders honored from companies on FORTUNE’s annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces for Women.

Nominated by President and CEO Michael Ugwueke for being an outstanding woman leader at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare who has consistently played a critical role in helping shape Methodist’s culture as great place to work for every employee, Ross-Spang is one of 77 award recipients recognized by Great Place to Work for their contributions to their company’s business that fully lives its values in the service to its customers and employees.

“Carol has been instrumental in creating a culture that emphasizes the value of every Associate,” said Ugwueke. “Our Power of One culture is founded on the belief that one person, one team, one organization can make a difference.”

Methodist was founded 100 years ago as a mission driven organization. Ugwueke says Methodist is committed to honoring that mission as the integrated healthcare delivery system embarks on its next 100 years, and with Ross-Spang’s guidance, Methodist is well positioned to further develop and deepen the sense of purpose and commitment each Associate has, which in turn will provide patients with the best care and experience possible.

In announcing the honorees Great Place to Work CEO Michael C. Bush said “We are excited to celebrate the achievements of some of the top women leaders at America’s greatest companies. The companies on FORTUNE’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces for Women are leading the conversation in workplace equality and are demonstrating to corporate America on how to become more diverse, more innovative, and great places to work for all.”

“The inaugural awards ceremony is part of Great Place to Work’s challenge to inspire every employer and company to become a great workplace for every one of its employees. We are committed to accelerating the maximization of all human potential that is currently underrepresented and disengaged across workplaces, with our first milestone of closing the work experience gap between women and men by 2020,” Bush said.
