Healthcast Week of May 29 and June 4

Camp BraveHearts, a family grief camp hosted by Methodist Hospice, helps children ages six to 16 and their parents or caregiver, cope with the death of a close family member or friend who has died in the past two years.

This year's camp will be held June 7, 8, and 9 at Saint Columba Episcopal Center, 4577 Billy Maher Road.

“Grief isn’t something you get over,” explains Dee Flood, development coordinator, Methodist Hospice. “Grief is something you go through and so we help children and adults as they work through those steps.”

Through games, music, and art, trained professionals and volunteers help children and adults explore their emotions, thoughts, and questions involving grief and walk beside them as they take their first steps in the healing process.

The registration fee is $15 and scholarships are available. To register call 901-516-1600.
