Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations are offered to companies requiring Department of Transportation (DOT) evaluation. This type of evaluation usually follows a positive drug and/or breath alcohol screen. Included is a preliminary evaluation, secondary evaluation, treatment recommendation (if indicated), monitoring during treatment and a return to work evaluation with a follow-up schedule.

Methodist Healthcare EAP counselors who have the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) designation have met DOT criteria, passed a national certification exam and are on the national registry.
