The Sleep Disorders Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and utilizes the expertise of four sleep specialists to meet the needs of our patients and our community.
In our state-of-the-art facility, we provide diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for more than 84 different sleep disorders for all age groups. Technologists at Methodist undergo an intense on-the-job mentor program, and they are encouraged to become certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
Our Sleep Disorders Center staff is highly qualified and specially trained in sleep disorders. Treatments for sleep disorder can vary greatly from lifestyle and behavioral changes to physical or mechanical devices, medicine or even surgery. Robert Aguillard, M.D.
Dr. Aguillard has been the medical director for the Methodist Healthcare Sleep Disorders Center for more than 15 years. He is also the medical director for the Methodist Healthcare SIDS/Apnea center. Dr. Aguillard received his medical degree from Louisiana State University, performed his internal medicine residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital and finished his fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Aguillard is a partner with Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists.
Dr. Aguillard is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the founding member of the Memphis Mid-South Sleep Society. In additional to his professional associations, Dr. Aguillard has been published in numerous clinical magazines, such as Sleep and the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology.

Merrill Wise, M.D.
Dr. Merrill Wise is a Neurologist with Methodist Healthcare Sleep Disorders Center specializing in pediatric and Adult sleep medicine. After graduation from Rhodes College and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Dr. Wise received post-graduate training at the Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. He completed residency training and is board-certified in pediatrics, child neurology, neurophysiology and sleep medicine. Dr. Wise is a physician with Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists.
Dr. Wise is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. His academic work has resulted in the publication of more than 80 articles, chapters, abstracts and presentations.

James Andrews, M.D.
Dr. Andrews is a board certified sleep specialist with the Methodist Healthcare Sleep Disorders Center. He completed his internship in internal Medicine in 1986 at the University of Tennessee in Memphis where he also completed his residency in 1988. He completed an Anesthesiology residency at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He went on to complete fellowships in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine a the University of TN in Memphis in 1992. On April 23, 2001, he received his certification as a board certified sleep specialist by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. He joined the Sleep Disorders Center at Methodist Healthcare in August of 2001 and is a partner with Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists. |

Robert McEachern, M.D.
Dr. McEachern is a board certified sleep specialist with the Methodist Healthcare Sleep Disorders Center. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS in 1993 where he also completed his residency in 1995. In 1996 he completed his Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship at the University of Mississippi. In 1998, he completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. On April 23, 2001 he received his certification as a board certified sleep specialist by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians. He joined the Sleep Disorders Center at Methodist Healthcare in January of 2003 and is a partner with Mid-South Pulmonary Specialists. |
