Therapies Provided

We are inspired by the miracle of life and know that it takes more than just medicine to restore our patients. We focus on treating the body and spirit – helping our patients to become whole again. Please see each section about our physical, occupational and speech-language pathology programs.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapy focuses on returning a person to the highest level of mobility and movement possible. Physical therapists evaluate muscle tone, movement, balance, endurance, ability to walk, ability to plan motor movements, strength and coordination.

A physical therapist provides hands-on treatment to help return normal movement to joints and muscles and gives instruction about exercises to help heal and strengthen the body. Treatment may include physical or mechanical means, such as exercise, heat, or mild electrical current.

Physical therapists also use devices such as prosthetics (artificial limbs), orthotics (braces and supports), and equipment to help a person in daily life.
We provide physical therapy at several locations. Typically, a referral by a physician is required. Contact us for more information.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on physical, cognitive and perceptual disabilities that influence a patient’s ability to perform functional tasks. We provide therapies designed to achieve the maximum level of independence in daily activities. Occupational therapists evaluate a person’s ability to use his arms, hands and fingers (fine motor skills), visual perceptual skills, cognitive functioning, hand coordination and self-care skills. We use work, self-care and recreational activities to increase independent function. Please contact us for more information.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapy focuses on a patient's feeding skills, motor-speech skills and receptive and expressive language skills. Our speech therapists evaluate cognitive functioning and social interaction skills. The speech therapist may develop oral sensory-motor skills, speech listening and conversational skills and higher-level cognitive skills, such as problem solving, reasoning, judgment and decision-making.
