Focus on Caring. Not Curing.
At Methodist Hospice we believe that the end of life doesn’t have to mean the end of living. Since 1979, we’ve offered care and comfort to individuals and their families who are facing life’s final journey. And we continue to ease the end of life transition for more than 225 families a day in our seven-county area. In 2006, Methodist Hospice served over 1,000 patients and families. This devoted care is guided by our founding principal:
Faithful care of the dying is part of our stewardship of the divine gift of life.
Our patients and families deserve a place that integrates the very best tradition of faith, health and compassion for all ages. As a free-standing facility made up of 30 beds, our hospice residence will have the ability to provide acute care rooms for those who require symptom management and short-term residential beds for those who cannot be cared for at home. Specialized equipment will be available to convert up to five of the rooms for the end-of-life care for infants and children.
Each of the rooms will be located on the first floor with a unique design allowing the patient’s bed to be wheeled into the outside gardens. Gardens and walking paths will abound so that those who cannot go outside everyday can enjoy a view of the landscape.
It will be a community asset, offering conference rooms for education sessions, a library and a bereavement center that is open to all children and adults throughout the region who are dealing with grief and loss.
