CIGNA HealthCare of Tennessee recently gave $100,000 to support the Methodist Hospice Residence.
"Our organization realized that for a city the size of Memphis, we really need an inpatient hospice facility," according to Chuck Utterback, Director of Contracting for CIGNA HeathCare of Tennessee.
Utterback said that when they learned that Methodist was building such a facility, CIGNA was eager to support the program. CIGNA HealthCare has previously supported the Methodist Foundation with funding for indigent care, diabetes education, cardiac education and outreach, and the Congregational Health Network.
"Most people have been touched by someone they loved in need of hospice care. Having a facility to go to during that time is an absolute necessity," Utterback said. "We recognize the importance of this facility and its benefit for the entire community." Many thanks to CIGNA for helping us build this sacred home.
