2009 Camp Dates: June 4-6
Camp Bravehearts is a family grief camp to help children ages 6-16 cope with the death of a family member or friend. This camp is a safe place where feelings of grief can be expressed without having to worry about the reactions of others.
Trained professionals and volunteers explore issues related to grief with the children and their families. By sharing their grief with others, these children and adults can begin to let go.
This three-day camp is held annually in June at Saint Columba Episcopal Center and is provided free of charge thanks to generous contributions from the community. During the three days, participants arrive each morning and leave each afternoon. Lunch and a snack are provided each day.
All children ages 6-16 who have experienced the death of a close family member or friend within the past two years are eligible for Camp Bravehearts. Special sessions are planned for parents and caregivers that are concurrent to the children’s sessions.
