Treatment options for cancer patients extend well beyond inpatient care. Oncology phyisician groups offering state-of-the-art cancer care, as well as growing partnerships with the UT Cancer Institute and the UT Blood and Marrow Transplant Center are paving the way for patient access to a variety of outpatient procedures. The Outpatient Cancer Center at Methodist University Hospital is providing an ever-growing number of special procedures without requiring hospitalization, including: chemotherapy, blood product administration, bone marrow aspiration, lumbar punctures, blood and stem cell apheresis and other procedures.
Realizing that families and patients may travel from surrounding counties or states for care, the Cancer Center provides guest rooms for overnight stays. In addition, families and patients have access to the Cancer Information Center and mobile information centers, specialized services designed to help patients and families find information and answers through a vast collection of multi-lingual patient education resources.
