Pulmonologists work with people who lung-related problems to help provide solutions to breathing disorders. Methodist Healthcare is home to a state-of-the-art sleep disorders center, which is staffed by board-certified pulmonologists.

Our pulmonary functions lab offers diagnostic testing for patients with breathing problems. We offer several pulmonary function services:

• Fiberoptic bronchoscopy
• Spirometry with or without bronchodilator
• Body plethysmography use to measure thoracic gas volume
• Carbon monoxide diffusing capacity (DLCO) for measuring lung diffusion gases
• Cardiopulmonary stress tests
• Arterial blood gas analysis

Appointments and Referrals

Appointments are made by physician order only. A technician will set up an appointment and fax the order back to the physician office to confirm the appointment. All referrals are made through consultations with the staff pulmonologists. Referring physicians can call 901.516.2839 or fax orders to 901.516.8063.
