Our vision is to build a place like home, a Hospice Residence that will integrate the very best tradition of faith, health and compassion for all ages. At Methodist Hospice Residence, each patient will be cared for in a peaceful, homelike setting. A place that will provide dignity, grace and care in the midst of a terminal illness.
Thanks to the facility’s special design, patients will be able to enjoy fresh air and sunshine in the garden areas. For those who cannot go outside, rooms will offer views of the many walking paths and gardens. Specialized equipment will allow a number of the rooms to be converted to care for infants and children. Each of the rooms will be located on the first floor with a unique design allowing the patient’s bed to be wheeled into the outside gardens.
Each patient room will offer comfortable surroundings to enable the patient and family to feel more at ease. Pets, personal mementos, photos, music and all the comforts of home are encouraged to make each room personalized and as close to home as possible.
It will be a community asset, offering conference rooms for education sessions, a library and a bereavement center that is open to all children and adults throughout the region who are dealing with grief and loss.
A place for all those of this community that Hospice encounters each and every day; patients with no one to care for them, no home to return to, or with symptoms too complex for the family to manage in the home. A residence can become the beacon in our community representing the very best care at the end of life – the very best of us as human beings. It is our work made real and visible.
