Employers are finding answers to many workplace concerns with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). An EAP can help with cost containment issues related to healthcare, workplace accidents, low productivity, absenteeism and tardiness. At the same time, an EAP can help employees and their families deal with issues that may affect their personal lives and job performance.
Companies choose Methodist Healthcare because of experience, reputation and quality programs. We have worked with businesses in Memphis and the Mid-South for more than 20 years. Today, we serve companies ranging in size from 50 to 14,000 employees.
A diverse work force covered by EAP includes public utility workers, healthcare professionals, banking employees, educators and clergy. Together, our client companies total more than 40,000 employees. Substance Abuse Professional Evaluations
SAP evaluations are offered to companies requiring Department of Transportation (DOT) evaluation. This type of evaluation usually follows a positive drug and/or breath alcohol screen. Included is a preliminary evaluation, secondary evaluation, treatment recommendation (if indicated), monitoring during treatment and a return to work evaluation with a follow-up schedule.
Methodist Healthcare EAP counselors who have the Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) designation have met DOT criteria, passed a national certification exam and are on the national registry.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
Examples of such incidents include bank robberies, the death of a co-worker, violence, natural disasters and accidents. The Methodist Healthcare EAP staff is trained and certified in debriefing work groups following such incidents.
