Learn more about our Neuroscience Institute Treatment Centers & Programs.

Established with the help of Kevin T. Foley, M.D., and Semmes-Murphey Neurologic & Spine Institute, the Spine Surgery Center provides leadership in clinical service, medical education and research/development for image-guided, minimally invasive spine surgery techniques for spinal fusion and disc removal, spinal implants, interbody fusion devices and artificial discs. Minimally invasive procedures are available on an inpatient and same day surgery basis for:

  • Degenerated or herniated disc
  • Misaligned vertebrae
  • Traumatic fracture

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy is used to treat both benign and cancerous tumors such as spine, lung and liver tumors. It is very important to treat benign tumors that have an aggressive nature because these particular tumors grow rapidly and interfere with other areas of the body resulting in pain and adversely affecting a patient's health. For instance, if a benign tumor is near the spinal cord, it can cause pain, weakness or numbness.
