Transplant Institute: How You Can Help

Make a donation to the Methodist Healthcare Foundation

Much of what we do at Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute can be enhanced by private support. The Transplant Institute provides many opportunities for individuals to make a meaningful gift to enhance the clinical care and the quality of life of transplant patients and families. Funding is also required to support clinical and basic science research.

Although the existing program has made major strides in advancing our research and supporting our patients, additional resources can provide assistance in the following areas to fulfill the vision for the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute:

Physicians and Staff
Contributions help recruit and bring outstanding physician and research talent to Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute.

Research
Unique and life-saving research initiatives are being conducted independently and in collaboration with other transplant centers in the United States and throughout the world. These activities include studies in the areas of transplant rejection, islet transplantation and pre-emptive transplantation, among others. Charitable contributions help fund the research staff, facilities and equipment costs of these activities.

Patient Support Programs
Contributions to the Transplant Resource Center Patient Emergency Grant Program provide financial assistance to organ transplant recipients, organ donors and their families. Assistance is provided to cover expenses related to the following situations, including; medication co-payments, phone and utility bills, transportation expenses, and Nora's Home or hotel arrangements.

Gifts can be made in a variety of ways. Immediate outright gifts provide support for research, training and purchase of new equipment. Permanent gifts, or endowments, can be established to provide ongoing support for a particular area of the Institute. Gifts can be made in the form of cash or appreciated securities.
