Our diagnostic services, based at Methodist University Hospital with satellite locations at the suburban hospitals, include numerous testing and monitoring labs. We offer a variety of diagnostic tests, including traditional MRI and CT scans. These tests may be performed at the hospital or at one of our outpatient diagnostic centers:
We also offer the new functional MRI-a first in the Mid-South area. For patients awaiting surgery for a brain tumor, a functional MRI procedure may be ordered. This procedure will ‘highlight’ areas in the brain that are connected to speech, hearing, vision and movement. The surgeon can use these pictures as a guide for surgery, removing the tumor without affecting these critical brain functions. This may also allows for shorter surgery time in some patients.
