Interventional Neuroradiology Center

Despite a national shortage, Methodist University Hospital is fortunate to have the expertise of onsite interventional radiologists. Neurosurgeons and interventional neuroradiologists work in conjunction to focus on aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations.

Other disorders we treat include:

  • arteriovenous malformations- collection of abnormal blood vessels
  • carotid stenosis-narrowing of the blood vessels which can lead to stroke
  • cavernous malformations-abnormal blood vessels that can cause bleeding in the brain

Procedures we specalize in:

  • Endovascular coiling- procedure used to treat a brain aneurysm
  • Angiography- x-rays used to visualize blood flow in arterial and venous vessels
  • Embolization- injection into a blood vessel to block the flow of blood
