The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) has once again designated the Medical Education & Research Institute (MERI) as the teaching facility for several upcoming resident training courses.
The MUH-NI’s partnership with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center brings the best of academic medicine to the forefront of everyday medicine. Medical breakthroughs are discovered through basic and clinical research. Some of the country's leading doctors are trained by accomplished faculty who also serve on our medical staff.
The Medical Education Research Institute (MERI), just around the corner from Methodist University Hospital, is the hands-on training facility for doctors from around the world to learn the latest in surgical techniques. In 2007, MERI was selected to host four courses for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). These courses, designed to educate residents, will include training on minimally invasive spine surgery and endovascular techniques, as well as a pediatric review and fundamentals of the spine. For more information about the 2007 schedule and topics, please call Tiffany Reed at MERI - 901.722.8001.
For a review on the success of these courses in 2006, please visit the AANS.
