Methodist Healthcare has a longstanding reputation for providing quality healthcare to the Mid-South and is one of the major affiliated teaching hospitals for The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, Tennessee.

Because of our association with UTHSC and our focus on education, we have developed a strong reputation as an academic medical center. As a part of our educational support, we provide professional programs to help educate regardless of level of study.

Our programs make student transition from classroom to practice easier, providing them with the needed environment to grow as professionals and individuals. At Methodist, we are training tomorrow's healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding care to each patient.

Clinical Pastoral Education
Knowing that faith and healing go hand-in-hand, Methodist Healthcare offers the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program. Through intense involvement with persons in need and feedback from peers and teachers, students develop new awareness of themselves and of the needs of those to whom they minister. From theological reflection on specific human situations, they gain a new understanding of ministry.
Clinical Pastoral Education
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is interfaith professional education for ministry. It brings theological students and ministers of all faiths (pastors, priests, rabbis, imams and others) into supervised encounter with persons in crisis.
Nurse Extern Program
Put your education to work in the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare Nurse Extern Program. As a part of our program, you will gain valuable experience to enhance your nursing education. We will provide you with the opportunity to observe and apply the skills necessary to help you fulfill your career goals. To better meet your needs, we also offer flexible scheduling.
Nursing Program
Through a unique partnership with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Nursing, Methodist Healthcare offers expanded educational programs.
Pediatric Critical Care for Respiratory Therapists
Working with children in healthcare is a rewarding but challenging experience. Often, there is an element of fear when going from adult to pediatric care. At Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center, we want to make that move as smooth as possible.
Perioperative Nurse Program
Expand your career options through the Perioperative Fellowship Program, the only program of its kind in Memphis. No other hospital in the city offers a formal perioperative class for nurses to gain valuable surgical skills through hands-on education.
Pharmacy Residency
One of the oldest in the country, our pharmacy residency program was established in 1964 and is ASHP-accredited. Four Pharmacy Practice residents and one Pharmacy Practice Management Specialty resident are admitted yearly to the 12-month program, which begins July 1.
Radiology Residency
Radiology training at Methodist Healthcare includes a transitional internship followed by four years of diagnostic training. Board certified instructors present residents with training in all phases of diagnostic radiology.
