Methodist Healthcare Women's Auxiliary

The Methodist Healthcare Auxiliary is made up of United Methodist Women from the Mississippi, Memphis, and Arkansas Conferences of the United Methodist Church. Organized in 1933 with 23 members, the Auxiliary's theme was "The Personal Touch" as they sought a way to meet the non-medical needs of patients and their families. Today, the Auxiliary has grown to more than 4,500 members who provide support to patients at Methodist Healthcare hospitals.

Members volunteer at the hospital in various areas, make tray favors for patients, and provide personal care items or clothes to wear for patients in need. The Auxiliary has also raised several hundred thousand dollars for building funds, equipment purchases, room and chapel furnishings and for nursing education scholarships. Annual contributions from their fundraising efforts provide the "personal touch" in the healthcare experience in many ways.

The Lions Club

The Mid-South Lions Sight and Hearing Service has been a partner with Methodist Healthcare for more than 40 years. It has provided over one million dollars in new medical equipment in the past 10 years alone.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission, Southeastern Jurisdiction

The United Methodist Volunteers in Mission exists to promote, encourage and enable Christians to exemplify “Christian Love In Action.” Its aim is to achieve the Great Commission through providing short-term mission opportunities for everyday Christians to reach a new generation with God's love. It provides opportunities for service in places of need around the world by developing and nurturing relationships with domestic and international leaders. They continually evaluate our contacts with these leaders to provide comprehensive project information. We help connect volunteers with suitable projects for effective service.
