Jeshahnton "Shaun" Essex has been named assistant administrator at Methodist University Hospital. In this position, he will be responsible for Environmental Services, Mail Services, Food and Nutrition Services, Laboratory, Radiology, and Facility and Engineering Services.

Essex, who holds an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and masters degrees in Business and Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, has served as assistant administrator at Methodist North Hospital for the last four years.

Essex is active in several healthcare and community organizations. He serves as the president of the Memphis chapter of the National Association of Health Service Executives and on the organization’s national Public Policy committee. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Mid-South Healthcare Executives, and the 2009 class of Leadership Memphis.
