Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH) associate, Stefanie Plunk, was recently named the Nurse of the Year by the Memphis chapter of the Emergency Nurse Association. She received the honor during an annual dinner which recognizes Emergency Nurse’s Day. Plunk is a registered nurse and works in Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center emergency department.
Stephanie Plunk started her career as a patient care assistant in the Le Bonheur emergency department 13 years ago. While at Le Bonheur she completed her nursing studies and became a staff nurse and also worked as an ED educator. Two years ago, she returned to the emergency department due to her love of working with children.
Plunk is a graduate of the St. Joseph School of Nursing. She is currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi pursuing a bachelor’s of science in nursing.

For more than 19 years, the Emergency Nurses Association has celebrated the second Wednesday in October as Emergency Nurses Day, a day set aside to honor emergency nurses for their commitment to patient care. The Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) is the only professional nursing association dedicated to defining the future of emergency nursing and emergency care through advocacy, expertise, innovation, and leadership.
