Katie Norman, supervisor, health information management at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital, is the first healthcare professional in West Tennessee to achieve Certified Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) certification. There are only 119 individuals across the country who have earned CHPS credentialing. Just three work in Tennessee.
To attain this distinction, Norman had to pass a rigorous exam. CHPS denotes competence in designing, implementing, and administering comprehensive privacy and security protection programs in healthcare organizations and a commitment to advancing privacy and security management practices.
