The Transplant Resource Center at Methodist University Hospital’s Transplant Institute will hold its Fourth Annual Holiday Gathering on December 6 at the Memphis Botanic Garden from 6-9 p.m. Each year, Transplant Institute staff and physicians, transplant recipients, donors and their families gather for an evening of fun, food and fellowship and an opportunity to reflect on the year’s successes and the lives that have been improved through transplantation. “We look forward to this event each year,” said Daniel Stanton, administrator of the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. “It’s exciting to be able to catch up with patients that we haven’t seen in a while and know that the Transplant Institute played a part in helping them achieve a better quality of life.” The A.B.S. Band will provide music for the event and there are rumors that Santa and his elves will be making a special guest appearance. The Transplant Resource Center is the fundraising arm of the Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute. Formed in 2004, the center’s purpose is to assist transplant recipients with expenses related to their transplant should a financial hardship arise.
