Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare will celebrate its new presence in DeSoto County June 17, 10 a.m., at 5480 Goodman Road in Olive Branch with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony. The celebration is for the opening of three service areas including the Methodist Healthcare Minor Medical Center that opened May 26 along with the Sleep Center and the Le Bonheur Urgent Care Center which will open June 10. All of these services are housed in one location.

“DeSoto County is one of the fastest growing counties in Mississippi, and we are very excited to bring the exceptional healthcare we provide to these families at our three new facilities in Olive Branch,” said Gary Shorb, president and CEO, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. “This furthers our mission to make quality healthcare easily accessible to everyone.”

The Methodist Minor Medical Center will be open seven days a week with extended hours to treat a variety of medical needs including sprains, cuts, scrapes, work-related injuries, as well as colds, flu, strep throat and other viruses. Currently, the Minor Medical Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. After the official opening June 17, the center will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

The Sleep Center will conduct sleep studies to help Mississippians get the rest they need. It will be open from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. seven nights a week.

The Le Bonheur Urgent Care Center will be the only dedicated after-hours urgent care center in Olive Branch designed specifically for children. It will offer care for a number of ailments and injuries including fevers, sore throats, bug bites, as well as providing stitches, and splinting. The Urgent Care Center will be open Monday through Friday 5 p.m.-11 p.m. and Saturday and noon-9 p.m.

“When your pediatrician’s office is closed, it’s still important that children have access to exceptional pediatric care,” said Meri Armour, president and CEO of Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center. “Le Bonheur’s DeSoto Urgent Care facility will complement the work of local pediatricians by providing a new resource to help keep children healthy.”

The public is welcomed to attend the open house and to take a tour through the
Methodist Healthcare Minor Medical Center, Sleep Center, and Le Bonheur Urgent Care Center.
