Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare received the 2007 Corporate Neighbor of the Year Award from Volunteer Memphis’ Corporate Volunteer Council during the 21st Annual Corporate Neighbor Awards. The award is given to a company whose corporate policies and record of volunteer service exemplify a deep commitment to the community. "This award is really a tribute to the many wonderful Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare associates who give thousands of hours each year as volunteers," said Carol Ross-Spang, senior vice president of Human Resources. "Each associate who volunteers in our community has helped us earn this honor. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is known as a generous organization, and we'll continue that tradition as part of our mission and our spirit of giving." Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare was recognized for encouraging associates to remember the basic mission of helping and healing others. Methodist Le Bonheur and its associates donate thousands of hours to many community groups by serving on numerous boards and committees. Some of the groups with which Methodist and its associates are involved, include: National Civil Rights Museum, Hope House, Mid-South Transplant Foundation, March of Dimes, Tennessee Early Intervention Program, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and Senior Service.
