Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown has completed the expansion and relocation of its dining facility. The new space, which opened March 12, includes the addition of a grill and pizza oven, Weight Watchers menu items, digital menu boards and a café style dining area.
Hospital officials believe the new kitchen and dining area and its amenities will improve patient care and give patients and their families a more comfortable environment during their stay. With a kitchen and dining area totaling a little more than 12,000 square feet, the new facility is about 4 times the size of the previous cafeteria. The dining area has been designed to resemble a café and features pendant lighting and booths. In addition to the warmer, more relaxing restaurant style of the dining area, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown has also installed flat-screen televisions for diners’ entertainment and several computer kiosks for convenience.
“The new kitchen and dining area and the additions we’ve made to our menu play a part in our commitment to ensure that our patients, their families and our associates receive exceptional care and service,” said Lisa Abbay, RD, LDN, director of Food and Nutrition Services. “Our patients’ experience begins as soon as they enter the doors of our hospital and we want every part of their experience to reflect our commitment to providing them with an inviting and comfortable place in which to heal.”
Operating under the motto “It’s not just a restaurant…it’s a destination,” Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown’s Food and Nutrition associates are committed to providing a unique dining experience for patients, their families, fellow associates and members of the community. Many associates are so impressed with the atmosphere and menu changes, they have mentioned dropping by the café to get take-home dinners for their families. The new and improved dining facility is an asset to Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown, its associates, and the entire community.
